The best ultrawide monitor for productivity we tested is the LG 34WN80C-B 34M. The base is a wide, curved footprint from which a telescopic arm emerges which offers ergonomic adjustments, and support for VESA mounting. Much like its 34-inch counterparts, the 1900R curvature creates an interactive experience. It measures 18.1 by 32.1 by 9.9 inches ( HWD) with the stand fully extended.
The top and side bezels are virtually invisible, ensuring you have the full-screen area and they fit well in a multi-monitor array. Lately, curved screens have become ubiquitous on big, ultra-wide, whether intended for gaming, graphic arts, or general business use, and the 34WN80C-B is no exception.
Its aspect ratio is 21:9 and is basically more beneficial than taller 4K screens, with the extra width being ideal for movies and having extra screen space for working. If you ever required a work gaming monitor, this one has its credentials, featuring immersive display performance. What makes things easier is the fact that the FPS games have more space to maneuver.
The resolution of UWQHD is 3,440 x 1,440 pixels and has its pros. For example, the screen is able to offer a rich pixel density of about 110 PPI (Pixels per Inch) with the 21:9 aspect ratio. This is basically the sweet spot between large screen real estate and image quality, which means you will have plenty of workspaces, as well as bright and crisp visuals, and most of the movies, are filmed at 21:9 native aspect ratio, so you’ll be able to watch your favorite screen shows and videos. Plenty of games embrace the same aspect ratio, but on other titles, you’ll have to do with black bars at the sides or extended graphics.
The LG 34WN80C-B appeals with an outstanding performance out of the box. The brightness level of 300 cd / m2 looks much better than the figure cited by LG and is backed by a contrast ratio of 5M:1. The high contrast is vital because it makes images bright, and lets this monitor offer a wide variety of shades – even evenly resembled tones are easier to tell apart.
When your device is using an AMD graphics card, the compatible graphics card may be used to synchronize the frame rate of the GPU with the refresh rate. If you do that, the screen tearing and stuttering that occurs within the 48-75Hz FreeSync range connected through the DisplayPort connector will be removed. The response time for game screens is a critical factor and LG performs very well. Its typical 5ms response time is great.

Acer Predator X35 is currently alternative best ultrawide monitor for productivity. It operates at a native 180Hz refresh rate with an accessible 200Hz overclock. It has G-Sync Ultimate, that is, it runs Nvidia‘s new silicon and supports HDR with 1,000 nits of brightness reaching backlight.
The Predator X35 arrives in a large carton, fully installed. All you have to do is lift it out and plug it in through the firmly integrated handle. But this does take a bit of power at nearly 30 pounds, or an extra pair of hands to help out. Cables come with IEC power, DisplayPort, and USB power. A metal brace deals with the need for a 100 mm VESA mount, and a small clip is attached to the wire upright.
The pivot is a large stack of disks that are placed between base and upright, ensuring smooth and firm motion. The build quality is great. You can see the curvature of the 1800R clearly from the edges. This offers a great sense of immersion in more traditional applications, like Microsoft Word or Excel, without drawing attention to itself. Needless to mention, the side profile is very chunky.
At four watts of power, stereo speakers are built-in and are friendly that centers on the upper midrange. Volume is acceptable and play without audible interference. The OSD is a wide variety of menus and choices; well structured and intuitive. There are other image solutions not only for calibration but for zone dimming control.
For almost 600 nits available in SDR mode for standard content, you’ll likely turn the backlight down to a more realistic 200 nits. You can do this in the Picture menu, which also includes a low blue light, dark boost to add shadow depth, and two options for zone dimming.
The color menu comprises five gammas presets and sRGB color gamut choices for the contents of SDRs and signal formats of components. For the most accurate image with SDR content, we suggest turning SDR Colors sRGB to. HDR material unlocks the entire native gamut of the X35, which is about 80 percent of DCI-P3, automatically. There are two variations of the color temp, including a user-mode with very accurate RGB sliders.
Overdrive can be switched on or off in the Gaming menu, with two separate levels. The overclock function operates the X35 at its native 180Hz refresh rate up to 200Hz. During our time with the X35, we have had no problems driving at 200Hz.

The best ultrawide monitor for Macbook Pro and Mac Mini we tested is the Samsung CJ791. This monitor has all the features that we need in an ultrawide. It provides a resolution of 3440 by 1440 spread over 34-inch diagonal size and about 14.5-inch height (21:9 ratio). The CJ791 is a 10-bit panel which means it is technically capable of slightly more than one billion colors and is claimed to cover 125 percent of sRGB. Compared to most screens, that’s a pretty strong color gamut, and there are plenty of color spaces and sRGB is not the broadest.
It uses quantum dots to make it much more accurate in color than the traditional LED-backlit LCD computer monitor. The CJ791 is rated for 300 nits of brightness. With help for FreeSync, it provides a reasonable response time of 4 milliseconds.
Through FreeSync, it adjusts the refresh rate to the frame rates that the AMD GPU delivers to it. This will reduce the latency and remove screen tearing, where the monitor begins to make a new frame before the old one is done.
You can also utilize the Picture-by-Picture (PbP, 1720 by 1440) and Picture-in – Picture (PiP, 720 by 480 up to 1720 by 720) capabilities at more than one input at a time. It comes with a CJ791 VESA mount connector, but the monitor ships with a round stand.
The external 24-volt power source supplies the different ports with 85 watts. There are two speakers on board that are handy for daily work. The panoramic view and accurate color of CJ791 are alluring, as are its ability to act as a completely functional docking station and mimic a dual setup.

The best ultrawide monitor for photo editing we tested is the Asus ProArt PA34VC. For a while now, ASUS has been building out its professional-grade product, with the ProArt PA34VC joining the group as a massive 34 inch display built for graphic designers and video creators. It has everything you can wish for and it gets close enough to include the kitchen sink.
ASUS uses a 1900R curve on the ProArt PA34VC, so that even after long hours in front of the screen ProArt PA34VC feels very good to the eyes is the HDR-10 support that offers some very impressive images and video. The two Thunderbolt 3 ports are a huge deal here, because they deliver up to 40Gbps of bandwidth. This allows the plenty of gadgets to be directly plugged in.
The Asus ProArt PA34VC uses an IPS panel with a native resolution of 3440×1440, in a glorious aspect ratio of 21:9. The DPI functions to 110 PPI or so, while we have a curvative 1900R that you can see in the image. ASUS brings the design and engineering of its into practice, with the ProArt PA34VC featuring some excellent design work that will make the look fantastic everywhere it is installed.
The Asus ProArt PA34VC is really a cool, sprawling monitor for work and play . It is built for video editors, artists, and photographers, and it has superior image accuracy, but it has a range of gaming-friendly features too. Its curved ultra-wide screen with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and 100Hz refresh rate is of a kind that is more commonly used in gaming.
A 34-inch matte-black (diagonally measured) , the PA34VC dimensions are 16.8 by 32.1 by 8.8 inches ( HWD) along with its stand. When the stand is fully elevated the height rises to 21.2 inches. It is aerodynamically friendly; it can be rotated from 5 degrees down to 23 degrees upwards in addition to the more than 4 inches height change, and twirled 30 degrees in each direction.
The foundation is T-shaped, with a lateral front bar extending 22 inches downwards, half of the ‘s width. A tube that attaches in the back to a cylindrical shaft that attaches to the cabinet of the panel at the top bisects the center of the stand. The bottom bezel of the panel is 0.6 inches tall; the side and top bezels are so small that the PA34VC can be considered successful frameless, making it a reasonable choice for use in a multi setup monitor.

The best budget ultrawide monitor we tested is the LG34UM69G-B 34. It is a ideal budget gaming monitor choice based on AMD FreeSync support, and USB-C. Let’s see how it stacks up against similar and newer ultrawide in terms of image quality, performance, design, and value for the price!
The LG 34UM69G is based on an IPS panel with 2560×1080 resolution, a 250-nit peak brightness, a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, and dithered 8-bit color (6-bit + 2-bit FRC) depth for 16.7 million colors. Now, while there are true 8-bit color at this price range, most IPS models use dithering to achieve 8-bit color.
The difference between true 8-bit and 6-bit + FRC color is not noticeable, so it’s not something worth worrying about. The peak brightness of 250-nits may seem low on paper, but the is more than bright enough under normal viewing conditions. You’ll most likely want to lower the brightness down from the maximum.
Further, the LG 34UM69G is factory-calibrated and it has the standard 99% sRGB color gamut which results in accurate, consistent, and vivid colors fit even for entry-level color-critical work. For professional-grade accuracy though, you will need to properly calibrate the. The IPS panel technology also includes wide 178° viewing angles which ensure flawless picture quality without any shifts in color, brightness, or contrast when looking at the screen off-axis.
Generally, the 2560×1080 screen resolution is not ideal for the 34″ sized screen. The pixel density amounts to roughly 81 pixels per inch meaning that the picture will be a tad pixelated and since everything (icons, text, etc) takes up more space, there will be less screen real estate available. For gaming, watching movies, and other everyday activities, this pixel density is acceptable for most users. If you’re sitting a bit further from the screen, you won’t even notice that the picture is pixelated. In fact, at around 4ft / 125cm, it’s impossible to distinguish the individual pixels on this. You can also apply some anti-aliasing in video games to make up for low resolution while the ultrawide format alleviates the problem with the lack of screen space.
The 21:9 aspect ratio provides you with extra horizontal workspace and a wider field of view in video games; you can think of the LG 34UM69G as a 27″ 1080p with ~33% of extra width. Video games that support ultrawide resolutions will feel a lot more immersive, but those that don’t will have black bars at the sides of the screen. Alternatively, you can choose to stretch out or crop/zoom the picture to fill the screen.
So, make sure your favorite games support the 21:9 aspect ratio. Luckily, most newer games do! Movies will also look a lot better and the extra horizontal space is great for productivity work and video editing.

The best ultrawide monitors for gaming we tested is Asus Rog Swift PG35VQ. If you don’t care about the money and looking for the ultimate futuristic gaming monitor this one should be your first choice.
The combination of 200Hz refresh rate and G-Sync inclusion makes gaming butter-smooth, and DisplayHDR 1000 makes games look bright, with amazing colors and depth. The curved large screen is smooth and interactive, and with top-notch colors and contrast, the core picture quality is fantastic.
It is fairly ergonomic, with a tilt range of -6 to 21 degrees on either side and a 35-degree swivel. Anyone who wanted to use it as a second screen would be frustrated by the lack of pivot to profile mode, but that is reasonable until you consider the weight: 22 pounds without the stand and a 45 pounds bicep-crunching with it.
Within a similar form to the FreeSync-y Strix XG, the Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ is a very high-spec gaming monitor, but with much more in the way of extra luxuries. First of all, this is a magnificent ultra-wide monitor with the requisite native resolution of 3440 x 1440.
Running Metro Exodus looks amazing too, both inside and outside, and my go-to HDR tester, Resident Evil 7, was operating almost perfect. We are saying ‘nearly’ because it sadly still doesn’t have the right ultra-wide support that won’t allow you to mess around with a hex editor just to get a real 21:9 fullscreen experience approximation.
The panel performance is superb. The contrast is excellent, the VA software provides the usual good levels of black that you might expect and the white saturation is as good as you would like. For the gradient test there is no sign of banding and the viewing angles are completely stable.

It is without any doubt one of the most intricately constructed monitors ever produced. The new Legendary language of design fits spectacularly well with Alienware. It comes in the color of Lunar White, combined with a few black elements that give it an utterly luxurious look and feel.
Its stand is a solid white pillar with a black core having an LED ring that illuminates when turned on. The pointed feet form a triangular footprint that is nearly one foot deep, and one foot long. The good news is that a full-size keyboard will fit in between the feet conveniently, redeeming missing desk space.
It is a Fast IPS Nano Color with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 stretched to a super-wide aspect ratio of 21:9 Color accuracy is rated good at DCI-P3 98 percent coverage and 134.5 percent sRGB color gamut.
The 1440p quality makes sure everything looks smooth and sharp. The best part of the game, however, is refresh rate. The 120Hz with G-Sync ensures that in games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Doom at the highest levels, the games can run buttery smooth and with decent GPU, you can easily max that out.
You have a number of USB 3.0 ports too, five to be exact. What’s really cool here is that one of the upstream USB ports allows you to connect a cable from your PC or laptop to a USB hub. Then you can connect all your other peripherals.
The Alienware AW3420DW is without doubt one of the most stunning pieces of hardware we’ve ever set eyes on. Here the new Legend design works spectacularly well and when you pair it with other Alienware hardware such as the above Aurora R9, it makes for a perfect desktop setup for Instagram.
When you’re editing video or working on massive excel spreadsheets or gaming, this is great for multitasking. It has a lot of ways to connect peripherals and the fast refresh rate combined with G-Sync makes gaming a pleasure.
