Unlike most 4K IPS monitors in this price range, the LG 27UK650-W is based on a 10-bit color depth (8-bit + FRC) IPS screen, 99 percent sRGB color gamut.

The MSI MAG 321 is part of the Optix MAG series, it is a 32′′ beast that can produce a highly detailed 4K image, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a 4ms gray-to-gray reaction time.

Here the style is rather simple, though smart in appearance. It houses a 31.5′′ VA screen, as quoted on the MSI website, with a curvature of about 1500r. This makes the monitor quite interactive, particularly when playing shooters from first person or even racing games. When it comes to the left and right edges either which was good, there was no visible stretching or blur.

It also includes a borderless three-sided design for the top and sides, and the bottom bezel is also quite skinny too. The entire thing is coated in a nearly matte black finish. You will however notice a DisplayPort 1.2 on the back, two HDMI 2.0 ports, for video.

Curiously though, there’s also a USB-C interface that can charge things like my Google Pixel 4 or Macbook Pro, three USB 2.0 ports on the side you can use to attach the keyboard, mice, memory sticks and the like, and even a 3.5 mm Audio Jack. Notice that you would need to use an upstream USB cable to the display to take advantage of the USB ports for data transmission.

There is also a driver app that you can use, which functions as the OSD, on your computer. You’ll need an upstream cable of USB-Type B data linked to your tower to operate on this, but keep that in mind. The app helps you to adjust details such as reaction times, brightness, contrast, and all of your finely tuned image settings right up to the back of the RGB strip.

This even allows you the ability to save your own custom profiles, allowing you to turn on the fly depending on what type of game you are enjoying, and even set a picture-in-picture with various windows open on your screen.

The MG28UQ is certainly no exception to this trend and we’d go so far as to say it’s one of Asus’ best 4K monitors we’ve seen to date, particularly if gaming is your sort of thing. Asus designed the MG28UQ as a simple, strong, and durable customization-friendly display system with a range of excellent gaming-oriented features, relatively solid visual output, and a smooth 60Hz refresh rate that is about equal to the 4K level.

MG28UQ provides a very reliable networking system with all major ports available for HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0 DisplayPort, and USB and ready to support their unique data transfer specifications. Therefore, the MG28UQ ‘s performance is robust by communication alone, because the display is built to handle just about any kind of gaming setup that a user may have in mind.

In the MG28UQ, design features are also something we would like about this particular display. For example, ASUS gave the MG28UQ a very useful little 5-way joystick control which is attached to the display back. It can be used to access the various on-screen calibration menus of this device and functions much better than the more familiar button-controlled interface.

Overall the joystick control helps a user to change gameplay, monitor, and other settings on the fly with relative ease even when in their favorite gaming environment they are in the middle of a round against goblins, demons, or enemy gangsters. Calibration efficiency in the MG28UQ is completely superb, with comprehensive settings for tweaking. 

These implement the rest of the stuff such as color settings, contrast, brightness, and resolution adjustments but more importantly, they often include presets for the Asus Game Visual color temperature and assorted software adjustments for decreased eye strain and quicker gameplay performances.

The key specs of the ViewSonic are amply appealing. The native resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 across a 27 in diagonal delivers 163ppi of enviable pixel density. That’s sharp enough to provide beautiful clarity, but it’s also so thick you’ll need to use Windows settings to maximize text and icon scale.The main feature for the ViewSonic gaming is AMD FreeSync. Its system synchronizes graphics card output with a refresh rate monitor to ensure games run smoothly and works exceptionally well: games run on butter-smooth frame rates and without tearing.

The only way to truly test syncing features is to view gameplay against a computer that doesn’t have one of the two choices available on the market – but once you’ve watched such smooth replay, it’s hard to return.The Asus counteracts the ViewSonic’s FreeSync, which requires the Nvidia G-Sync. All apps work the same way but I choose hardware from AMD. FreeSync is an open, free standard that AMD, Intel, and several other companies already use while Nvidia’s G-Sync continues to remain proprietary – it costs extra cash to monitor manufacturers to use it, and it only tends to work with Nvidia graphics cards.

The ViewSonic has a cord-tidying loop, four USB 3 ports, an audio jack, and a range of display outputs: three HDMI 2.0 connectors, a DisplayPort jack, and a mini-DisplayPort socket. It is only a few more ports than the Asus, and it’s not the only place where the two panels cross paths.

The front of the screen features about 1′′ thick bezels (a little wide for this display class) with the company’s classic silver-on-black color scheme that it loves so much, while a black brushed plastic rounds the back slightly. The stand features a smooth polished silver on the base and a special sloping way to carry the display so it sits down to the ground.

The Samsung UE590 is a 28′′ TN panel-based LED display that operates at 3840 x 2160 resolution, has a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, and features a 1ms GTG reaction time with a 60Hz max refresh rate and an anti-screen tearing feature with AMD FreeSync. We noticed a fairly slim number of available ports on the back of the UE590, limited to a lean two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DP 1.2, and a single 3.5 mm audio jack.

However, the 4K resolution will make sure the image is sharp and crisp, with maximum details and plenty of screen space. For PC use, bear in mind that due to its high pixel density, the display will need scaling, and certain apps do not scale all that well. We can’t blame the Samsung U28E590D display for this as certain applications are just poorly optimized.

In addition to supporting 10-bit color depth via dithering (8-bit + FRC) and 4 K resolution, the Samsung U28E590D display features a peak 370-nit luminance that ensures the image is bright even in well-lit rooms. It eliminates all ghosting, trailing, and movement distortion of fast-moving objects in fast-paced games, giving you buttery-smooth movement visibility.

The monitor does support HDCP 1.4, which means you can play the protected 4K content, but at 1080p max. Nevertheless, PC and console games, as well as other features, run at 4K, without any problems
